Dear Cheesecake,

This for you, all in pink, just the way you like it.

My wish for you is here.

Please make a swift recovery and come back to playing with me soon.

I'm going to miss you tomorrow so remember that I will be thinking of you all day and watching the cars go by waiting for you to come home.

I'm sure Mum and Dad and Cookie will be with you and holding your hand all day long and if the hospital allowed canine visitors, well, Id be there with bells on.

Don't forget you are beautiful just the way you are,

See you when you get home.

Lots of furry hugs,

Major xx
Note from Mum: Our eldest daughter Cheesecake (not her real name of course folks *shhesh!*) was born with a uni lateral cleft lip and palate. She has endured many surgeries which began at age 3 months old. Now aged almost 8 she will be heading to hospital for more work on her lip only. The doctors at The Royal Brisbane Children's Hospitalhttp://www.workingwonders.com.au/ are some of the best cosmetic surgeons in the Australia and our Cheesecake is a real trooper and we think she secretly enjoys the fussing over her (who can blame her being one of four girls). We will take 10 month old Cookie with us also (yes Maj is devastated) and our two middle girls(Mudpie & Pudding) will have some quality Painting Nanee time.

Dear Major,

I will have my paws crossed for everything to go perfectly for your Cheesecake! When the operation is over, do you think you could send me a little taste? I'm awfully curious if she's as sweet as she sounds!

I am sure that you will take excellent care of her when she gets home. That is really the most important job. They'll tell you that the doctor has the most important job, but it's not true. We all know about the restorative powers of dog drool and kisses. Plus, it's a known fact that people need dogs to lay in bed with them to get better when they're really sick!
